Can't find your answer below? Reach out to us, and we'll be happy to answer your question.

  • What is the Picard Method?

The Picard Method for Sports Recovery is an innovative and highly specialized approach to sports recovery developed by Philippe Picard in 2011. With well over 10,000 hours of hands-on practice, this method has consistently demonstrated outstanding effectiveness across a wide range of clients—from clients in sports physiotherapy clinics to international athletes, including ATP tennis players, Team Canada gymnasts, and numerous world championship-class HYROX competitors.

  • What are the main benefits of this method for my clients?

The Picard Method will allow you to:

    • Release the most persistent tensions through an innovative approach
    • Deeply drains metabolic waste and stimulates the lymphatic system, promoting optimal recovery
    • Improve blood circulation and stimulate tissue regeneration
    • Deprogram constant muscle contractions, relieving discomfort and enhancing performance
    • Increase muscle elasticity, flexibility and overall well-being
    • Enhance mobility and range of motion

  • Who will benefit from the Picard Method for Sports Recovery?

The Picard Method is intended for:

    • Elite athletes
    • Individuals with persistent muscle tension
    • Anyone wishing to optimize recovery, mobility, or physical performance

  • How is the Picard Method different from other massage techniques?

It introduces a revolutionary way of applying pressure that is powerful, consistent, and safe, without causing the therapist to become fatigued or injured. Combined with an extremely refined sense of touch and a step-by-step, segmented, and structured procedure, it achieves precise and exceptional results.

Most courses add techniques. This program teaches a complete, structured method designed for consistent, measurable outcomes.

  • Is the method safe for my clients?

Yes. Therapists must follow the steps and procedures of the Picard Method while considering the client’s tolerance to pressure, which is why clear communication on both sides is essential. Please note that clients may experience soreness or bruising for 2 to 3 days after a massage. It is recommended to drink 3–4 litres of water during recovery.

  • How does the method improve mobility?

Deeply draining the connective tissues around the joints, it then facilitates their manipulation. It includes a series of safe, precisely adapted joint mobilizations designed to quickly increase the range of motion.

  • Is this a recognized training program?

Yes. The Picard Method for Sports Recovery training is recognized by:

    • In Quebec, the RITMA Association recognizes the training for continuing education hours.
    • Internationally by the insurance company CFC.

  • What is the recommended session frequency for my clients?

    To maximize results:

    • One session per week for 1 month
    • Then, once every two weeks

Afterward, frequency is adjusted according to individual needs.

  • Will this method integrate with my current practice?

Yes. The method enhances your existing skill set, allowing you to deliver more effective results without altering your foundation.

  • Is the technique physically demanding?

It is hands-on and requires effort, but the method is designed to allow a powerful application without practitioner fatigue or injury.

  • Where will the training take place?

Your 30 hours of training will take place from Monday to Thursday.

The training will be hosted at Olympia Performance, located 20 minutes from Montreal/Trudeau International Airport.
